I love the reaction of the Phoenix Suns faithful after they dropped the first 2 games against old nemesis, San Antonio. I’ve heard everything to the Suns choking, to fire Mike D’Antoni, to death threats directed at General Manager Steve Kerr for the Shaquille O’Neal trade, to how useless Leandro Barbosa and Boris Diaw have been, even criticizing injury prone Grant Hill. Certainly the pressure is on everyone in the organization.
What seems to be lost in this series is the FUN factor. When the Suns play well, everyone from fans to Robert Sarver to everything and everyone in between, are having the time of their lives. They’re a joy to watch when the throw caution to the wind and have some fun. Game 3 is perfect to remember how to have fun. The game is at U.S. Airways Center before a sellout crowd. As fans, your job is not to sit on your hands. Let everyone know that you are going to stay on the Suns bandwagon through thick and thin. For the players, you can take than fan enthusiasm and work in it your favor. It’s not simple but don’t let the Spurs ever get into this game. Learn from your mistakes (losing 14 and 17 point leads in the previous 2 games) and show a killers instinct. Use every single bit of Shaq’s playoff knowledge and 4 championship rings to get back into this series.
